Half-and-Half

On the left, the native ground/plants for a park/flood control area, the Pitman Wash.* On the right, the landscaped lawns and trees of the neighboring subdivision. Down the center, the neutral ground of the biking path.
Interesting contrast.
*(It doesn't rain very often in southern Nevada... but when it does, there's not a lot of plants to soak it up, so it builds into flooding Very Quickly. The Pitman Wash is one of the areas left in its natural state, providing a conduit for the rainwater to rush down to Lake Mead without flooding.)
