Something I hate: Scrubbing. :p I'm not that fond of cleaning work in any case, but with the way my knees have been getting in recent years, getting down on them and scrubbing for any length of time can be torture.
Something I love: Sitar music. :) Admittedly, not so much the pure work you'll hear on Ravi Shankar's native albums; but the slightly pop-ified versions on the Ghandi soundtrack I love to pieces.
Somewhere I've been: St. Louis. Back in the 13 years I worked for PCS, I spent a fair amount of time there manning the one-person office while the regular host was attending conferences or making delivery runs. The office was located in a relatively blue-collar neighborhood; I'd go out for deliveries and see a fair amount of the western half of the metro area, from glitzy upscale shopping and corporate headquarters to run-down industrial areas. The Arch is neat, of course; so is the renovated Union Station. And while I'm not sure the St. Louis Science Center is worth a special trip, it's a neat place to see if you're there.
Somewhere I'd like to go: Seattle. For several reasons; the downtown area and the Space Needle. Mount Rainer. The aerospace history embodied by Boeing, and the museums there. Puget Sound.
Someone I know: Shawn Gravelle, my brother-in-law. :)
A film I like: I'll avoid the Star Wars references this time; that's too easy. How about Secret of Kells? Plays to my love of animation, and the unique animation style does nothing but help. (The movie is about the Book of Kells, a famous medieval illuminated manuscript; not only are the character designs modeled on that style, the entire movie is animated in a nod to the format. Perspective is flat 2D, character movements are confined to that plane, and there are even spots where movement is shown by moving the character between the panels of a triptych.)
