Okay, trying to be more substantive. ^_^ I like the lighting a lot--the shuttle is shown in enough detail as the centerpiece, while you can see just enough of the people admiring it to give the shot some additional human interest. Love the composition.
Hm, do you think you'll be making it to KSC any time in the (relatively) near future? There's a bit about the composition that I'd really hate to spoil.
The Atlantis exhibit is on the second floor of the building. You walk (and line up to wait) along a long winding ramp, with pictures and occasional mementos of the Shuttle program lining the walls. There's a waiting room at the end, with various bits. *Then* you're ushered into a standing theater room, where the lights go down and you watch a short film on the history of the Shuttle program, complete with lots of space shots, culminating in a launch. Giant wall-sized screen, so it's appropriately grand. If you listen real close during the launch, you can hear an actual physical rumble nearby. The screen retracts into the ceiling... to reveal Atlantis in front of you, as the door hidden by the screen was retracted during the last scene of the film. About the same view as in the pic above.
Dramatic as hell, extremely well done. But it's even better if you don't know what's coming, hence the concern for spoilers. ^^;;
Wow, that sounds really fabulous, and yeah, it does sound even more fabulous unspoiled. I hope I get to experience that someday! Thanks for the description. :D
