The Kansas Cosmosphere has a fair amount of gallery space devoted to the Cold War history that drove the Space Race; herewith an example, Kennedy in his rocker seated opposite Krushchev in one of his speeches.

The lighting makes this extra-surreal! Was it hard to photograph this one on account of the light, or...?

It was tricky, yeah; not so much the colors (that wasn't too hard to tweak in Lightroom), but the low level of light.
