Not Really Small Town

Historic downtown Franklin, TN. Franklin was originally quite distinct from Nashville, and has been around since the early 1800's; the friend I'm visiting lives in a house built in the 1830's.
What this picture doesn't tell you is that Franklin is now pretty firmly in the Nashville metro area (solid development from downtown Nashville all the way), and home to lots of fancy corporate offices (like the U.S. headquarters for Nissan). So - you have a historic district... and you have everything else.
