Visited a friend in Indianapolis for the solar show; he lives a couple miles south of the Speedway, which puts him right on one of the flight paths for the Indianapolis airport. So as the sky headed towards black, we got a plane flying into the encroaching darkness...

This was the part that really surprised me; I've seen close-up pics of the corona, but never realized that it would be visible to the naked eye like this! I can see why the ancients got rather worked-up about eclipses...

And to keep it slightly more to-date, pic of this weekend's aurora. Sadly, while I got the colors when I stopped to take a test pic with the phone, they were gone by the time I finished setting up the big camera.
