Those aren't birds. Gnats. And the poor fish couldn't reach 'em...

(I'm a bit disappointed these didn't come out more in-focus. OTOH, given that the sun was almost over the horizon, I'm a little surprised the camera was able to lock on even this well. ^^;; )

I don't know, those gnats seem pretty well in focus considering they must have been moving and stuff! Is it just me or do they look ENORMOUS? I'm scared enough of the size of skeeters we get down here.

The fishing sunset is lovely.

A big part of the apparent size is that they're only a couple of feet in front of the camera, and there's nothing there to tell the eye just where they're at - so they could either be something small close-up, or larger at a normal distance.

That said, they were rather larger than the average gnat. :) I would have taken them for mosquitoes myself, except they weren't biting.
