So last night, I drove about 40 miles west trying to find a good spot to go comet viewing. No luck in finding a place where the clouds weren't blocking the view.
I drove out to Perry Lake dam on Saturday night. I think I found it in my binocs before the clouds blocked that portion of the sky. Still glad I went out to look, because the rest of this week isn't looking likely.
This was out at the south end of Clinton Lake dam. I started along old K-10 from Lenexa to DeSoto, hit 'regular' K-10 there and got off at Evening Star Road... Evening Star was dark enough but everything was lined with trees. Got back on K-10, I could see too much light pollution from Eudora, then from Lawrence, so I decided to just stay on K-10 to Clinton Lake. Then I got there and too many clouds. Oh well.
