Older than I thought
Aug. 7th, 2015 05:53 pmThe centerpiece of the KU Natural History Museum is a huge panoramic diorama, covering all sides of a large central room just past the entry hall:

The display covers a range of climates, from desert to winter snow, stopping at various places along the way...

What surprised me is when I went to look up the history, and found out it was created as the Kansas exhibit for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. After the fair, the museum building - Dyche Hall - was built specifically to house the panorama. So, well - older than it looks.
