One of a series of macro (extreme close-up) photos I took for an Olympus photo critique today. Found this old plastic-tape labelwriter at a garage sale and fell in love; even the late models made of plastic had a certain charm, but this old one made out of metal was gorgeous.

Oh wow, love the details on this. You have such a great eye--it's clear you've spent a lot of time honing it.

(Sorry to be so absent lately; work has been on and off kinda busy.)

When I was at high school back in the Soviet Union, my classmate brought a notebook with a plastic-tape label with her name typed in Latin. I was fascinated by the bright red color of the beautiful hard stripe. The girl seemed didn't think much about it. She routinely mentioned that her dad brought it from work. No wonder! Everyone knew that her dad was a diplomat. We never had these things around us, and now I know what was behind that miracle: plastic-tape label writer. Got it. Thank you!
