One thing I was not expecting to fly close enough to see today...

The Arizona Meteor Crater, otherwise known as the Barringer Crater. 50,000 years ago, 300,000 tons of nickel-iron slammed into the earth, leaving a crater over a kilometer across. I've known about it for a very long time, and occasionally toyed with the idea of visiting it, but it always seemed impractical. I never expected to get this close to it. :)

Wow, I went to see it last year. It's impressive on the ground, but this gives it a whole new perspective. Thanks for posting!
