Bridge Panic

Last photo I took of Hoover Dam on this year's trip... they wouldn't let us onto the bridge walkway overlooking the dam until after sunrise. Which would have ruined my plans to catch the sun rising over the dam from the bridge, except that this time of the year it rises from behind the nearby hills, and you can't see it even from the bridge. :( This was about the only angle where I wasn't shooting straight into the sun, which doesn't work very well.

May have been just as well; my acrophobia was acting up worse than usual this year, and I'm not sure if I could have pushed myself out onto the bridge in pitch darkness. ^^;;

I did think it was kinda cool the way the sun reflected off some of the power transmission towers, leaving a bright patch on the face of the dam. :)

That's an arresting view even if you didn't get the shot you quite wanted!

I'm scareda heights too, so you have my sympathies there...
