The FDR Memorial is interesting. Most of the big memorials, particularly the presidential ones, are monuments - one big central building of epic scale. (See: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Mt. Rushmore...) This one, however, is more like a garden or a park; laid out in four areas corresponding to FDR's four terms, with various set pieces scattered throughout. This one was one of my favorites.
