None of the people at the park that day were entirely sure what it was; best guess was a heron, but we really don't see them in this area much, if at all. Geese and raptors are about the only large birds I've seen coming through here on a regular basis.

Looks similar to the herons I've seen, but I'm no birder. Down here the large birds we seem to get are hawks (not sure what kind), Canada geese, and egrets. Sure a pretty bird, though!
