So, I've been interested by some of the large-scale wind farms I've seen pop up here and there as I've driven across the Midwest - but since I was driving, didn't really have a chance to stop and see if I could capture some pictures. Then I saw one had opened up east of Emporia, KS - not a jog around the block, but still close enough to look at trying to find a good spot for pictures.

Drove around on gravel roads for a half-hour before finally finding this spot, which was the first place close enough to possibly get some good shots. Unfortunately, those long grasses you see in the foreground are great places to host chiggers. Cue 20+ bug bites on my legs. ^^;;

Still, at least I got a few pics I was satisfied with. Also found some other possible vantages as I was driving out, may try them another time.

(And interesting bit? This isn't very far from the Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant, maybe 15-20 miles.

Makes sense in a way, as that lets it tie in to the power grid infrastructure already set up for the plant.)
