Gateway Arch - Some Assembly Required

When I was driving back from Nashville a couple of weekends ago and was passing through St. Louis at the right time, I tried stopping again to get some shots of the Arch. Unfortunately, the place I usually park at over the years is still blocked off by construction. :( I had a little better luck finding a place to shoot from this time; the Arch is separated from downtown St. Louis by I-70, and I was able to park along the frontage road on the other side of the interstate. Better yet, there was a bridge crossing the interstate less than a block away, and while it was closed to traffic you could walk across it.

So, have a look at the Arch through a construction gateway. :)

Actually, the gateway adds some visual interest in a lace-silhouette way, and it's definitely different from the postcardy photos of the Arch that I'm used to seeing! I kind of like it. :D
